A primer’s job is unglamorous but non-negotiable: create a consistent, well-bonded base layer so every coat applied after it goes on evenly and stays put. Timber Prime is that foundation step in Panache Green’s Wood Care system. On sound timber, it’s typically the first product applied; on timber that’s been softened or weathered, it follows TS Timber Stabiliser.

On sound, new timber it’s typically the first product applied. If the wood has been softened or weathered, TS Timber Stabiliser goes on first, and Timber Prime follows once the fibres are reinforced.
It creates a consistent, well-bonded base layer, so the tone coat goes on evenly without blotching and the topcoat has a surface it can bond to for the long term.
Sealing comes next, then toning if you want to adjust or match the wood’s colour before the final lacquer topcoat.
