How do I know if my timber actually needs stabilising?

Sound, new timber can usually skip straight to priming. TS Timber Stabiliser is for wood that’s already gone soft or powdery in patches – weathered decking, older furniture, or structural timber that’s seen years of moisture and sun exposure.

What does the stabiliser actually do to the wood?

It penetrates into softened or degraded fibres and reinforces them from the inside, giving the timber a sound, consistent surface for every coat that follows – primer, sealer, tone, and topcoat – to bond to properly.

What comes after applying TS Timber Stabiliser?

Once the wood is stabilised, the next step is Timber Prime, followed by the rest of the finishing system (tone, sealer, or lacquer depending on the look you want).
