Industrial buildings face a harder waterproofing problem than most. Large roof areas, metal sheet joints, fasteners, expansion joints and heavy thermal movement give water many places to enter. An industrial waterproofing solution needs to seal the roof and also cope with the movement that heat causes. Panache offers fabric reinforced waterproofing and cooling waterproofing systems that protect industrial sheds, plants and warehouses from leakage while reducing roof heat.
Waterproofing systems for industrial roofs, foundations and existing structures
Panache waterproofing systems are built around reinforcement and chemistry that suit large industrial surfaces. The range includes fabric applied protective waterproofing, two component systems and a waterproofing system that also cools the roof. Select the system based on the substrate, the condition of the existing roof and the need for heat reduction. Explore the wider portfolio under waterproofing.

Industrial waterproofing is the application of a continuous, bonded and flexible membrane over a roof or structure so that water cannot pass through it. On industrial roofs, the membrane has to stay intact while the roof expands in the afternoon heat and contracts at night.
In FAP waterproofing, a fabric is embedded in the system and reinforced with two component chemicals. The fabric acts like reinforcement in a slab. It spreads stress across the membrane and bridges small cracks, so that a hairline movement in the substrate does not tear the waterproofing layer.
The result is a seamless layer over sheet laps, joints and fastener points, which are the usual points of failure in an industrial roof. For roofs in strong sun, the FASC system adds a reflective layer so that the membrane itself stays cooler and experiences less thermal cycling.
A leaking industrial roof is more than a maintenance problem. Water damages stored goods, raw materials, electrical systems and machinery, and it leads to corrosion of metal sheets and reinforcement. Production stops and repair costs accumulate.
Heat and water are linked. When the ambient temperature is 45 °C, a metal surface can reach 80 °C and a cement surface 65 to 70 °C. That level of heating causes repeated expansion and contraction, which opens cracks and joints and lets water in during the monsoon. A waterproofing system that also reduces surface temperature reduces this stress.
Cooler roofs also reduce the load on ventilation and air conditioning, which lowers electricity use and greenhouse gas emissions. This is why waterproofing for industrial sheds should be planned together with roof cooling solutions for industries.
Existing roofs can often be treated without stripping them out. Applying waterproofing over an existing roof avoids the cost and disruption of tear-off and re-roofing.

Where a roof needs both waterproofing and cooling, a cool roof coating adds the reflective layer. It consists of a binder, usually organic or silicone, mixed with pigments and additives, and it protects the roof membrane while reflecting solar radiation.
Most cool roof coatings contain a binder, pigments, reflective pigments and water. Water is the carrier, and most white coatings are water based.
The white reflective elastomeric coating from Panache reflects up to 92 percent of visible light, keeps the roof much cooler than non-reflective roofing, and adds years to the roof by protecting the substrate.
